Ok so much has changed and obviously I'm a horrible blog updater but as time goes on I hope that will improve. Last I mentioned all the drama with my pregnancy and it continued to be just as bad until tada I was induced on November 1st due to preeclampsia. The wednesday night before I had gone into the hospital because my labor had started and after 20 hours of very little progression they sent me home thursday afternoon. On friday Oct. 31st we went back into the hospital because I had pretty high blood pressure among other symptoms of preeclampsia and they needed to monitor me overnight. When saturday morning came, they decided that because the baby was 37 weeks gestation and I was having problems they agreed to induce me and they started the pitocin that afternoon, along with penicillin for group B strep. My labor only progressed from 4cm to 5cm and wasn't really going anywhere so they decided to break my water (which was VERY scary for me I don't know why it just was) Now I hadn't really been feeling contractions at all even after they broke my water they were still somewhat manageable but painful enough that I wasn't really staying relaxed. Problem was, due to my stress of labor my blood pressure shot up to 170/100 which is very bad. (There is risk of siezure with this.) The Doctor at this point said I needed to relax and recommended pain meds which I broke down and agreed to an epidural. (Having an epidural put in with very hard contractions 1 minute a part was horrible) But once in I could relax and my labor progressed from 5cm to 9cm in about and hour. Within a matter of minutes I was ready to push and after another hour he was here! I will never forget when they placed him on my stomach after birth. He was screamin' and just beautiful. It was an amazing experience! Now I have a beautiful baby boy who will be 5 weeks old tomorrow and is growin' like a weed. He is so much fun to cuddle and love but boy he can have a temper when you don't feed him instantly! But he's a lot of fun and looks just like his Daddy!
